As a thank you for helping us hit the milestone of 300 likes on Facebook, we’re holding a giveaway for 3 awesome prizes!
This is from a Facebook post,
As most of you are aware, while filming on location in Belize in January, Corin Nemec was in a boating accident where he shattered his leg. His recovery has been a slow but progressively steady road…In times like these it often helps to know that one has the support, loves and well wishes of those around them.
That being said, I wanted to compile a book of letters, fanart and convention photo-ops to send to him to keep his spirits up as he continues with his rehabilitation therapy. I suspect this is going to to turn into quite the undertaking, however with your help, I’m sure this will turn out wonderfully in the end.
So…here’s my proposed timeline for getting everything done:
- Submission deadline: June 30th
- Digital compilation of book deadline: July 9th
- Turnaround for printing and international shipping: July 30th
…From there I will be hand delivering the book to the production offices in Toronto when I am there in mid-August.
I have told Corin I will be sending something for him through them…but he does not know what, so I have the go ahead from him to make arrangements with the office to get the book to him in LA. Submissions can be emailed to: email@example.com
- Page dimensions: 8 ½ x 11 (landscape)
- Minimum 150dpi resolution
- If submitting a letter, you are welcome to include a photo to attach to it
- If you want your twitter handle quoted with your submission in the book, please quote it in the email with your submission
- If you’d like to chip in towards the cost of the book, I would be most grateful because I have no idea how big this book will end up being, let me know and I’ll send you my paypal info.

The charity for June was also our first charity when SewGeekAustin was started one year ago this month. We thought it fitting that 10% of our sales for this month should go to Team Levi again this year!
Has it really been one year, since I listened to my sister, husband and other friends and family? Yup it has and oh how much things have changed. I opened the store, with geeky bib and burp cloths. Reason being that was what I did before when I had a shop with another person. But then I found a tutorial of how to make wrap bracelets and decided to make them geeky. Supernatural was definitely the winner and then Loki. I also found out that I am pretty good at making replica’s of things hence our Loki Scarf was born. Our mini Wallets are all the rage, especially the ones with the FBI badges on them.
We also donated almost $2000 to different charities this past year and hope to do the same this coming year. With your continued support that should not be hard.
What is the next year to bring? Well we are going to make some more “manly” items, things for guys. The Messenger bag will be back and maybe even some decals. We’ll see. But all in all our goal will just be to make Geeks happy all over the world.
Thank you all for your support.
